"A Great Star": Jo Cox MP dies in shooting

RIP JO COX MP | 1974 – 2016


Jo Cox MP has died after being shot and stabbed; she became the MP for Batley and Spen in 2015. A 52 year old man has been arrested.

EU Referendum campaigning has been suspended and tributes have poured in from around the country and further.  David Cameron described her as "a great star" and a pro-EU rally he was about to attend in Gibralter was cancelled. 

MP Angela Rayner described her "friend" as "a wonderful caring and decent person".

The BBC announced that Question Time and This Week will be cancelled tonight.
