In the wonderful age we live in today, we have a great opportunity to change our country, and the world, for the better. Just think of some of the amazing things that we have done in the last century: The NHS, The Welfare System, SureStart, The Minimum Wage & Equal Marriage Rights. None of these magnificent achievements ever would’ve been possible without progressives, and most impossible without a progressive government.
Progressives everywhere have made improvements on both their country and the world. Whether it be Nye Bevan, John. F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks, Tony Blair, Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, Bernie Sanders, and endless amounts more. Each of those people have at least one thing in common: they saw that the world was changing, and that we needed a different way of doing things adapted to that world. As a progressive, I realise that times have changed, and that the progressivism of Blair or Bevan is different to today’s progressivism.

We need progress everywhere, progress to ensure
that everyone has a decent life, for that is what progressivism is about.
Allowing everyone to fulfill their God given potential, and live life to the
fullest. To be able to live without fear of racism, homophobia, sexism. That is
why we need progressives, and we need them more than ever.
