NUS VP Criticised for Calling BBC Sketch Mocking ISIS 'Racist'

An NUS Vice President, Shakira Martin, has come under fire for calling a sketch the BBC made, where it mocked ISIS, "racist".  The sketch is called 'The Real housewives of ISIS' and you can watch it below.

Martin is never far from controversy.  In her role as NUS VP for Further Education, she has used vulgar language to attack other senior NUS members and has been forced to apologise for 'transphobic' language.

The NUS has previously come under fire for failing to condemn ISIS, In a facebook comment, shown above, Martin said "This needs to be taken off TV" and accused the BBC of being racist.

The comment was attacked by recently-elected NUS delegate Tom Harwood, who's campaign we reported on last year, who said "Kowtowing to extremists has become a deeply worrying NUS trend.".  NUSceptics, an anti-NUS campaign group, was also critical, saying: "We didn't realize making fun out of a terrorist organization that has committed genocide was racism."
