We want your opinion on the topic of a feature in our upcoming spring magazine. Should voting be compulsory? In countries such as the UK and the US, voting is voluntary and you have to register to vote. But in other countries, Australia for example, voting is compulsory, and you're fined if you don't show up without a valid reason. There is a long-lasting debate over whether or not forcing the electorate to vote improves the democratic process. Does it mean people are more informed? That the government is more legitimate? Or does it undermine a right to abstain?
